George Smith is a high-end handmade furniture and fabrics company. All of our furniture is manufactured at our factory in Newcastle. Our range of furniture includes sofas, chairs, stools and chaises. We also offer a full bespoke service. Our client base comprises of both trade and retail customers.
We are looking for a sales focused person to join our sales team in the London showroom. The ideal candidate will have some form of prior sales experience and be willing to quickly learn about all aspects of the George Smith product.
The role:
proactively manage the relationships with an allocated group of both trade and retail customers, maintaining consistent yet appropriate contact to ensure George Smith remains ‘front of mind’ when they come to select/specify furniture. Update the same group of customers with all the latest George Smith news, products and events
oversee and manage all quotes issued to your group of customers and see quotations successfully through to orders
liaise with the outside sales team on all prospective clients and projects which necessitate their involvement
work with the rest of the sales team to ensure we exceed our monthly sales targets
work with design (trade) customers, the production team and logistics team to ensure the timely delivery of furniture, confirmation of all outstanding details, for all orders and particularly projects with a large number of items and possibly complex custom designs
follow up of initial contact. This may be a client you dealt with or one that another of the sales staff initially looked after. This will involve all aspects required to ensure accurate completion of the client’s order
follow up with clients after the order to ensure that they are happy with the final product. Ensuring that any issues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently to all parties satisfaction
involved in performing some of the day-to-day duties necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the showroom. These duties include, but are not limited to, booking in and despatch of fabrics, maintenance of the look of the showroom, processing of orders, filing of orders, follow up of estimates
The candidate:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about sales, without needing to be aggressive. The successful candidate will hold an understanding of the luxury and bespoke market with an interest in interior design. Prior experience in this industry and interest in the interiors or design industry is not essential, although may be beneficial.
A well organised and thorough individual with good attention to detail is paramount. As is the personal drive to ensure that all clients are happy with their experience of George Smith in terms of both our products and service.
The showroom is open 9.30 am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, however candidates are required to be flexible outside of these hours.
The role will involve some Saturday working. Generally this will be no more than two Saturdays per month, however you would be expected to work the Saturdays of our sale periods. A day can be taken in lieu of each Saturday worked, although flexibility is required as to the timing of these days.
