We are currently recruiting for a Director of Finance and Resources to join the Senior Management Team at our Head Office in Maidenhead.
This is an exciting and challenging time for the organisation as the Commission heads towards its 100th year. This role will be part of the Commission’s Senior Management Team as it works on the new strategic plan for the organisation. You will lead financial and resource planning, with the possibility of it taking on a new status as a charity. Managing the contributions from member nations, achieving excellent value for money through the provision of quality management information, and supporting the organisation with long-term financial and budgetary modelling will be at the heart of keeping the CWGC sustainable and viable.
Reporting directly to the Director General, and managing the small head office finance team, this varied role will provide financial advice to the Commission and Commissioners, and support the four main geographical area directors in their delivery. The finance director also acts as Secretary of the Finance and Audit Committees and will be a member of the Endowment Fund Committee. In addition, future migration of responsibilities will include management of the Human Resources function.
About you
Qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA).
Demonstrable experience of working in a finance/accounting leadership role, with the authority and credibility to deal direct with the board and with experienced colleagues.
Experience of public sector financing and UK Charity standards is desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with a preference for team working
Ability to analyse complex data and make sound judgements
Experience of HR Policy and pay negotiations is desirable
Ability to travel, but based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, 25 minutes from Paddington.
