At the EIS we think of ourselves as the team behind the team and deliver a range of performance impacting sport science and sport medicine services to over 40 Olympic and Paralympic sports along with a select number of non-Olympic sports, including Premier League Football, Premiership Rugby Union, Rugby League and Cricket.
The services we provide aim to deliver performance improvements and are guided by the technical programme needs of Performance Directors, coaches and athletes. The mix of practitioners we select to work with a sport is based on delivering the precise blend of skills and expertise to meet these requirements and contribute to performance improvements.
FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER (FTC for 12 months)
Base: Sportcity Manchester
Salary: £38,122-£42,243 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Your role:
The post holder will contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of the English Institute of Sport through:
• Supporting managers across the EIS in the management of their budgets through the provision of variance analysis and reporting, advice and support.
• Providing the Research & Innovation (R&I) team with timely monthly reporting to meet their needs whilst also providing them with ongoing forecasting and budget management support.
• Management of the business’s equipment requirements; including Sport England grant applications, working with technical staff to identify equipment lists and working with suppliers to develop company wide service/maintenance agreements.
• Proactively working with business managers, line managers and administrators to improve and develop key business processes.
• Developing and improving the current finance system within the current Olympic cycle and, if the post is extended, project managing the implementation of a new finance system within the next Olympic cycle.
• Proactively working with technical staff and business managers to identify company wide purchasing opportunities, thus obtaining best value for money.
You should have:
• Professionally qualified accountant and member of a recognised professional accounting association (ie ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
• Significant experience in a finance role, including experience of working at management level
• Providing business advice and guidance to non-finance staff.
• Preparation, co-ordination and communication of budgets/forecasts
• Preparing and presenting management reports, including spreadsheet analysis
• Establishment and development of financial policies and procedures.
