British Dressage (BD) is the governing body for the Olympic sport of dressage and a member of the British Equestrian Federation. We aim to develop and promote dressage competition in the UK at all levels, to continually improve our sport. As part of our ongoing development, an exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the head office finance team.
The Finance Officer is responsible to the Finance Manager & Accounts Supervisor to assist with the timely and effective completion of a number of financial processes.
The role includes:
• Maintain the purchase ledger & ensure that invoices are authorised, coded, entered, and suppliers paid within the given timescales
• Answer purchase ledger queries via telephone and e-mail
• Liaise with Fixtures & Grading Officers to invoice Starter Levies, ensuring that venues are invoiced within the given timescales
• Assist with the preparation of accounts for year- end audit
• Assist with the maintenance of the sales ledger and answer sales ledger queries
• Process incoming cheques and prepare banking on a weekly basis.
• Raise invoices for web adverts and liaise with the advertising administrator on credit control.
• Enter staff expenses ensuring that mileage is entered onto spreadsheets and reconciled on a regular basis.
• Analyse, reconcile and enter World Pay, PayPal, credit card and cheque cash sheets.
• Invoice service invoices as requested by budget holders, on the receipt of an invoice request form.
• Invoice sponsors on receipt of a signed contract and chase up any unsigned contracts, not received by the end of the due month.
• Assist the organisation with the ongoing promotion of British Dressage and where necessary to include working at BD designated events
