Fundraising Officer – Pestalozzi International Village Trust – Battle, South East England

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who wishes to expand and build their current skills. Working predominantly with Trusts and Foundations, the role also offers the opportunity to work with individual supporters and groups. The position would suit applicants with a flexible, creative and innovative approach and the ability to prioritise tasks and thrive under pressure.

The role in brief:

Accountable to: Head of Fundraising and Marketing
Purpose of post: To raise funds from and build relationships with donors and prospects. To promote the work of the Charity to individuals, trusts and foundations, corporates and groups in order to extend and build on existing income levels.
Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week – flexible including some evenings and weekends
Salary: Circa £19,500 gross per annum

Job Description:

Main Tasks –

To assist in developing and delivering Pestalozzi’s fundraising and marketing strategies, in particular to devise ways of recruiting new supporters and encouraging increased support from existing ones.
To work with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing to devise and implement an ambitious recruitment and cultivation strategy with specific focus on managing and developing the Trusts and Foundations Programme.
To assist fundraising from Individuals, including prospect and donor research, generating individual profiles and biographies and the delivery of donor care, alongside providing support for the successful delivery of increased donor recruitment and retention rates.
To work with the Events Committee in researching, planning and delivering an annual programme of events in order to promote the Trust and raise awareness, support and funds; undertaking public speaking where necessary.
To use the Donorflex database to support successful fundraising and donor management including data maintenance, updating, reporting and segmenting and managing database development work.
To liaise closely with colleagues across the organization to maintain an overview of fundraising initiatives; generate success stories, proposals and applications, and monitor and evaluate reports alongside other PR materials as necessary.
To enter donations, gift aid declarations and gifts-in-kind onto the database when needed.
To use excellent verbal and written communication skills, to inspire and influence donors and prospects.
