DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Producing accurate monthly management accounts and cashflow projections in a timely manner.
Generating monthly journals and service charges.
Contributing to the annual budget-setting process and biannual revisions by producing projected budgets and associated documentation for the impending/current financial year and beyond, based on BDCA’s existing financial data and assumptions about future income and expenditure.
Working with the Senior Leader for Finance to produce regular financial reports and dashboards for quarterly trustee board meetings and the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
Monitoring BDCA’s income against VAT and state aid thresholds and preparing VAT returns.
Preparing for and contributing to the annual audit process.
Ensuring BDCA remains up to date with its knowledge of and compliance with financial regulations.
Assisting with reviewing and making improvements to BDCA’s financial systems, processes and controls.
Working with Project Coordinators and other budget holders to enable them to understand how their funding is allocated, keep track of spending, and address any significant under- or overspends at an early stage.
Actively contributing to team and planning meetings and other BDCA staff meetings.
Complying with BDCA’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety, data protection & confidentiality, and equality, diversity & inclusion as well as with regulations from affiliation bodies (e.g. Newham Foodbank and the Trussell Trust) and current government guidance on Covid-19 infection control.
