About the job
We are looking for someone who is either an aspiring senior account exec (looking for their next promotion), an account manager that wants to develop further and is looking for the next challenge or a journalist seeking a move into PR and comms. Either way, he or she will play a leading role in a highly respected and reputable communications consultancy.
So putting job titles aside, this is what we envisage….You will have day-to-day responsibility for creating and delivering PR and communications programmes with a strong marketing bias.
You will be working for a range of clients – including two really exciting entrepreneurial enterprises.
The first is the UK’s most innovative award-winning music instrument developer and manufacturer with worldwide sales. (No playing experience required although an appreciation of what music can bring to life and young people in particular would be appreciated). The second is supporting a highly progressive smart home/internet of things company with great prospects in the UK and globally.
You will also be a member of the team working on a long-established membership organisation (itself established by the most innovative entrepreneurs of their day).
Plus, you will play a leading part in the development of our consultancy with genuine growth and career opportunities – for both you and the company. So you will not only help identify and win new business but also gain hands -on experience of how consultancies work.
This is a well rewarded position with great financial and career developing prospects for the right person.
If this appeals to you, we will gladly provide you with a more detailed job specification.
About you
We are looking for someone who combines both creativity and work discipline; someone with a creative mind set but also has a full appreciation of meeting client goals and expectations and making sure we makes ourselves invaluable – coupled with a professional approach. Always.
You are likely to have between three and five years in-house, consultancy, journalism or sales/marketing experience. You will know how to pen a compelling story, be it on Twitter, Facebook or in a press release.
You’re also likely to be outgoing, inspiring and fun to be with. You will have an enquiring mind and take a real interest in the world around you, both in terms of how it affects our clients, business and the world at large.
Meeting deadlines and often making headlines will be part and parcel of your everyday mix.
You can write swiftly and succinctly (whether for the media or for reports) as well as communicate effectively, in person and digitally.
It goes without saying that you have the ability to develop great working relationships with the ‘three Cs’: clients, colleagues and contacts.
About us
We are an entrepreneurial style business keen to involve and keen to reward. We are located on the south west edge of Birmingham, close to the motorway network and in a semi-rural environment. We are extraordinarily well connected and well respected. Our work encompasses public relations, social media, consultation and engagement and design (on-line and in-print).
We are based in our own premises – a former Victorian school that has lots of character (just like us!).
We are a friendly, sociable, results-driven team that always goes the extra distance for our clients.
