Marie Curie Cancer Care is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses. We are perhaps best known for our Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support. We aim to help people and their families living with a terminal illness make the most of the time they have together by delivering expert care, emotional support, research and guidance.
The Finance team support all the activities of the charity. The Treasury function is a critical part of the Finance team with responsibility for overseeing all banking relationships and managing over 60 bank accounts.
This role deals with a diverse range of people including the banks and staff across different departments within the charity. A key part of the role is to be the initial point of contact for all banking queries and ensuring that these are resolved satisfactorily. The role has responsibility for all administration with regard to the operation of the charity’s bank accounts and ensuring that bank mandates are current. The role is also responsible for assisting with processing of income received by the charity and for some bank reconciliations.
You will need solid experience in a finance team and will be used to dealing with bank systems and procedures as well as maintaining cash books and preparing bank reconciliations. You’ll need to be a team player, whilst also being able to work on your own initiative and being an effective communicator. You will need to demonstrate a proven academic record and may be studying for an accountancy qualification.
