Academy Commercial & Marketing Manager – East London – West Ham United Football Club

Job Description
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen in West Ham United FC’s growing marketing team for an Academy Commercial & Marketing Manager to take ownership and build on the identity of the Academy brand and expand it both domestically and internationally.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Marketing & Communications the Academy Commercial & Marketing Manager’s key objectives will be to maximise revenues and sponsorship opportunities by developing all commercial aspects of the Academy and building the brand, ensuring the club is properly represented in media, advertising, PR and promotional collateral.

The Academy Commercial & Marketing Manager is responsible for;
• Developing the commercial and marketing strategy for the Academy
• Implementing and maintaining the Academy Patrons scheme and developing other products
• Maximising Academy commodities
• Exploiting Academy franchises internationally
• Generating new business by establishing leads and potential business opportunities
• Thorough proactive sales, research and benchmarking
• Competitive analysis
• Management of own P&L centre

Personal Specification
Specific Experience
• Strong and proven record of B2B sales, and experience within the international market would be desirable

Abilities/ Skills/ Knowledge
• Demonstrate proven sales achievements in high volume and longer term strategic sales
• Strong commercial awareness
• Ability to develop good working relationships
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Proactive attitude and a self-starter who takes initiative
• Interest and passion for the brand
• Strong negotiation skills
• Budget management experience
• Ability to present ideas and concepts at all levels with conviction and sound reasoning

Education
• Educated to degree level within a related discipline or equivalent
