PSG is seeking to recruit a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive revenue for our owned assets and Sponsorship mandates. JOB PURPOSE
• Take ownership of outbound sales leads and follow-up for Events and Sponsorship assets.
• Consult on sales strategy for new projects planned in 2015 and beyond, particularly relating to the growing Events business.
• Network effectively within the Sports industry to exploit new opportunities as they arise.
• Manage the Salesforce CRM system, exploiting PSG existing network and developing the CRM into an asset for all users within the business.
• Leverage industry knowledge and experience to drive revenue for PSG projects and assets.
• Explore relevant sports industry tender lists and consult with management team to approach and win new marketing and communications accounts.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Employee will have a minimum overall target revenue to be decided with management team
• Deliver revenue on PSG created events and work with the senior team to deliver sponsorship sales for key rights holder mandates.
• Consult on new projects to build a robust sales strategy and delivery.
• Identify opportunities for new rights holder mandates and sponsorship accounts
• Leverage existing PSG network and own contacts to create a sales pipeline for new business.
• Develop the CRM system into a strong sales tool for the Company and help train and advise others on best use of the system.
• Report regularly to senior management on sales performance and identify business need for further investment in the sales strategy.
• Take overall responsibility for reporting in this arena.
• Identify appropriate targets for the PSG business development team to approach regarding selling of PSG PR/communications and marketing services.
EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
• It is essential that the candidate has demonstrable experience in selling to sports organisations and companies that spend within the sports industry.
• Experience of CRM database management and reporting, preferably Salesforce.
• Experience of managing and responding to tender applications for events, sponsorship and marketing accounts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to create and deliver presentations to tender.
• The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of the industry sector and should be able to demonstrate strength of network and relationships.
• The candidate needs to be proficient in written communication with a working ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
