We are seeking an Editor for Builder & Engineer, a leading bi-monthly publication aimed at construction professionals.

This would be an ideal position for an experienced journalist who is looking to take the next step on the career ladder.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to put their own stamp on a well-established publication and to really make it their own.

You will have experience of writing for print publications and knowledge of the construction sector is preferred although not essential.

We are looking for someone who can bring their ideas to develop and expand the magazine’s online and digital presence and you must be comfortable using social media to engage with readers.

The Editor is required to work closely with the design and sales teams and excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate should also be commercially aware.

You will be based in an office in a prime location in Manchester City Centre.

The Editor is responsible for:

Planning, writing and commissioning features and interview pieces for the bi-monthly magazine
Managing the associated Builder & Engineer news website
Producing content for a bi-weekly e-newsletter
Promoting the Builder & Engineer brand on social networks
Liaising with the events team for the Builder & Engineer and Women in Construction Awards, short-listing entries and chairing judging panels, as well as attending the events
