Job Description
Working within the Commercial team, the Marketing and Client Service Intern will work closely with the Head of Marketing and Sponsorship Account Manager to drive participation in our events and offer first class client service to our sponsors. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating captivating content for social media platforms, websites and e-newsletters to ensure sponsors have a regular and meaningful dialogue with our participants.

Key responsibilities:
• Assist the Head of Marketing with delivery of PR and marketing campaigns to drive participation and mass awareness of the events
• Support the Account Manager in managing a portfolio of event sponsors, ensuring they receive all of their contractual rights and derive maximum value from their sponsorship
• Oversee, with the support of the Head of Marketing, the competitor communication process – writing, building and sending content driven participant e-newsletters that generate engagement for event sponsors and partners and afford our participants an unrivalled event ‘journey’
• Account manage Official Charity Partners, delivering all of their contractual rights, offering solutions to marketing challenges and fostering a long-term association with our events
• Implement the social media strategy across all events, creating a premium and engaging event journey that gains us credibility and drives entries and sponsor engagement
• Responsible for updating the event websites, ensuring they are up to date, easy to navigate, and add value to event sponsors and participants
• Support the Client Service and Marketing team in creating post event reports and regular case studies with a view to retaining existing sponsors and attracting new brands to our events
• Complete other ad-hoc duties as directed by the Head of Marketing & Sponsorship Account Manager
The candidate:
• A confident and outgoing individual who is passionate about sporting events
• A creative individual with the drive to learn about the commercial environment which make sporting events possible
• A confident self-starter with a willingness to learn, work autonomously and drive projects forward
• Understanding of the Mass Participation Industry, with an interest in triathlon, cycling, running and the wider sports industry
• Interest in sports business and up to speed with the latest news within the industry
• Interest in content driven digital marketing and social media
• An eye for design with a basic understanding of Photoshop and / other design software
• Educated to degree standard
