Job Description
British Wheelchair Basketball is looking to appoint a Marketing Manager to help capitalise on the considerable public interest and growth we have achieved since the Paralympics at London 2012.
As we head towards Rio, the post holder will be expected to develop a dynamic and future facing strategic marketing plan, that aligns our organisational priorities alongside the needs of our current and future stakeholders. The plan will identify the most effective communication activities needed to achieve our goals and the synergies we can achieve through collaborative work with others who share our aspiration.
You will be a confident marketeer with experience of integrated multi channel approaches and will be motivated by making a small marketing budget achieve big things!
You will work across a range of target audiences, including the British public, Club members, Elite Squad, National Governing bodies of Sport, as well as the media and commercial partners.
You will be a strong and effective verbal and written communicator, managing a digital media manager, helping to reinforce our credentials as one of the most progressive and forward thinking National Governing Bodies of Sport. You will ensure that we set best practice in communications across all web, digital comms and social media, supporting in the education of our frontline deliverers (clubs and coaches) to help them to master effective communication approaches for engaging and retaining members.
You will be responsible for shortlisting, selecting and managing an array of freelancers and suppliers, ensuring that we deliver a quality communications infrastructure and generate considerable ROI.
You will develop and lead the marketing for Rio 2016 which will be held in Worcester. This will provide an opportunity to work with key stakeholders including government agencies and national broadcasters.
You will be located at the heart of sports administration – SportPark Loughborough, within a dynamic and modern working environment that enables you to work alongside and collaborate with the very best thought leaders in the country. You will also have the opportunity on occasion to travel overseas as a representative, supporting the elite teams based in Worcester and working within international press offices.
You will have the opportunity to access training, support and development, with an experienced marketing board mentor who will be your sounding board.
