Working with our key partners Sport England, BSkyB and Local Authorities we’re driving forward more successful and exciting cycling programmes, supporting the growth of women’s cycling and making the pathway more accessible for disabled people.
The Role:
To continue achieving the department’s challenging participation targets going forward, we are seeking to appoint a Programmes Officer to provide operational support for the delivery of British Cycling’s guided rides (Sky Ride Local and Breeze) and self-organised rides (Ride Social). This role is responsible for co-ordinating trained leaders and delivering valuable customer service to this remote workforce, volunteers and participants. Additionally the role will be responsible for coordinating a team of route mappers to identify, map and risk assess new and existing validated cycling routes, for a number of geographical areas ensuring consistently high quality routes meeting agreed specifications.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person, with excellent project planning and communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a team with both internal and external customers.
Your experience will include:
Managing operations and logistical projects with a track record in delivering targets
• Co-ordinating distinct elements of large national programmes
• Experience of working with and managing volunteers remotely
• Knowledge and experience of customer service management and co-ordination
Our hours of work are 37.5 per week, although weekend and evening work will sometimes be required. British Cycling also operates a pension scheme, a salary sacrifice childcare voucher scheme and a cycle to work scheme. All employees are also provided with gold membership of British Cycling.
