Funded by Sport England, Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire (SPHW) is part of a national network of County Sports Partnerships (CSP’s) and we are currently in a position to recruit for a Project Manager (Marketing & Communications).
County Sports Partnerships are currently undergoing a transitional period following the publications of the new Government and Sport England strategies and therefore this post is on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2018 with a 3 year extension subject to confirmation of external funding.
As a key member of staff, the post holder will be an expert in their field and lead on Marketing, Communications . A pivotal part of the role will be ensuring that the work and role of SPHW and its wider network of partners is communicated in an effective, efficient and positive manner and that the use of insight is used to develop appropriate and targeted messages.
The primary purpose of this role is to promote and develop the Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire brand, demonstrate impact and raise the profile and reputation locally, regionally and nationally by utilising a variety of marketing techniques and communication tools. The post holder will also take the lead on behalf of the partnership for the coordination and management of high profile events specifically the annual Sports Awards.
This position will provide support across the whole team, driving marketing and communications on campaigns and events, managing all print and digital output including video and social media content across all our outlets, and the development of a marketing strategy and delivery plan.
We are looking for an expert who has industry experience ideally in both marketing and communications. You will have a strong understanding of marketing techniques and tools and have the ability to implement them across all areas of SPHW’s work.
You will have experience of promoting projects and programmes on behalf of other partners and be able to manage numerous projects at once. Well-developed communication skills and significant experience of writing and implementing operational development plans will be essential to the success of the role.
You will also have experience of developing and implementing sponsorship briefs/packages and be able to utilise this when working in partnership with the Head of Business to generate income to support key partnership events and programmes.
An ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities is essential as is a willingness to work unsociable hours. A self-starter with good team building and networking skills are critical to this role.
