Marketing is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Reporter to join its dynamic editorial team and contribute to its industry-leading, multi-channel coverage of the marketing communications sector.
The role offers the opportunity to become Marketing’s creative guru, overseeing our ‘Creativity’ sub-brand, which celebrates the best creativity in the marketing and the advertising world. The Reporter will also cover a raft of exciting and fast-paced sectors, interviewing business leaders from some of the world’s most successful and innovative brands.
You will play a vital role in producing both short and long-form content daily for Marketing’s online bulletin and will also write analytical news and features for Marketing’s monthly print magazine. We are looking for a journalist brimming with ideas across all forms of content, including video and podcasts.
You will need to be capable of reporting live from conferences, interviewing industry leaders, commissioning opinion pieces and representing the Marketing brand at events, sometimes out of hours. We are looking for a reporter with initiative, bursting with ideas for how to take Marketing’s content output to the next level.
Required skills and abilities include:
At least one-to-two years’ journalism experience
• Preferably direct experience writing about business and the creative industries
Ability to write sharp and entertaining copy, often under severe time pressure. Plus the imagination to think beyond words as to how to tell stories
Experience using content management systems
Understanding of how to promote content using social media platforms
Energy, confidence, can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure
