Academy Football Analysis – Core Sports Coaching

Job Description
Core Sports Coaching is one of the leading independent Academies in surrey and is now recruiting for an Academy Football Analysis.

To assist in the provision of performance analysis in the academy at Weydon School with focus on the U9-U12 age groups. Additionally, some work around the Pre Academy stages will also be required (U7s-U8s).

Key Responsibilities
The role would focus on providing analysis support to the Academy (U9-12). In addition to this, some work around the foundation stages (U7-U8) would also be required, where a lead role will need to be played. Overall, this role would involve working closely with the academy coaching staff in order to service all of their analysis needs. This may include but not be restricted to; some post-match team and individual technical analysis, trend analysis, and extensive team and individual video analysis. Other responsibilities would include:
• Filming and databasing U9-U11 matches to create video show-reels over the course of the season.
• Filming selected U7-U12 matches and training where required.
• Follow uniform analysis ‘best practices’ that are implemented throughout the department.
• Assisting in the promotion of Football Analysis at Weydon, including the use of innovative processes, new software and concepts as well as integrating new processes.

Match/Event responsibilities and organisation
• Must be available to work youth matches this may involve travel from time to time.

Main Job Requirements and Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training:
• Working towards/completed undergraduate degree relating to the field of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance and/or Performance Analysis (2:1 minimum). Working towards or planning on enrolling on a MSc in a related field would be preferable.

Qualifications:
• Football coaching qualifications highly preferable (FA Level 1 & 2) and any specific performance analysis qualifications are also applicable (ISPAS accreditation, for example).

Specific Experience:
• Experience of observing and/or being subjected to different footballing and/or sporting environments. This will ensure a solid grounding and rounded view of varying working methodologies,as well as an acute understanding of examples of best practice within performance analysis.
• Being a relatively new field, understanding how a football/performance analyst fits into and can assist the football department is essential.
• Experience working at academy level is preferred but not essential.

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
• Exceptional inter-personal skills that facilitate and allow the effective usage of performance insights.
• Ability to apply ‘real world football knowledge’ in order to provide perspective and aid understanding.
