Academy Nutritionist – Middlesbrough Football Club

Job Description
Middlesbrough Football Club is looking to recruit a part time Academy Nutritionist to support our Category 1 Academy working within the Academy Science and Medicine Department for 1 day per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering nutritional support to all registered academy players (9-23 years). A key role will also be to provide educational support in order to upskill current staff. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the elite player performance plan and be aware of the requirements linked to this. They will provide players with individual dietary learning plans where required, review them and adapt them in accordance with progression. There will also be the opportunity to work closely with our Catering Department in line with daily requirements for our players. Over time, there may be the opportunity to extend this provision to other staff and players within the football club.

Candidates must:
• Be educated to Masters Level in Sports Nutrition.
• Be a registered nutritionist.
• Have relevant experience within elite youth sport
• Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be aware of current regulations in line with supplementation
• Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to accurately manage data.
• Will thrive on the challenges of working in professional sport and must have a flexible approach to working hours to facilitate meeting all the demands of the role.
• Knowledge in the use of the Performance Management Application (PMA) would be advantageous
• Have a full UK driving licence.

This post falls within the scope of ‘regulated activity’ and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
