Warrington Wolves is one of the leading Rugby League clubs in the elite Super League competition. The club has a proud tradition within Rugby League and the community that it serves, enjoying success at both academy and first-team level.
As part of the performance department, the Warrington Wolves’ medical team strives to provide a gold-standard level of care to all players from scholarship to first team. This is underpinned by a multidisciplinary approach, working in close collaboration with the other pillars of the performance team; strength & conditioning, nutrition and sport science. In addition, the department is proactive in contributing to academic research in both sports medicine and sports science.
We are looking to recruit a part time Physiotherapist to work with our U16 Academy squad for the coming 2017 season.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out the assessment and treatment of injured players within the academy playing squad and those of locally affiliated junior teams
• Carryout Pre-Season screening in line with the Warrington ASP
• Pre-Activity preparation for the squad (any taping, massage, stretching etc)
• Provide pitch-side cover at both training and games for academy players in accordance with RFL guidelines and upkeep IMMOFP course qualification
• Formulate & implement individualised rehab programs for injured players
• To be actively involved with the preparation and presentation of player education programmes, in respect of injury prevention & recovery
• To maintain medical records in line with CSP/HCPC guidelines and utilizing Rugby Squad database
Essential Requirements:
• BSc (Hons)/MSc Physiotherapy qualification.
• CSP and HCPC registered
• Available for Wednesday evening training cover and weekend fixtures
• Comfortable working in a sporting environment
• Good communication skills
