Academy Professional Development Phase (PDP) Physiotherapist – Sheffield United Football Club – England

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Academy Professional Development Phase (PDP) Physiotherapist at to join our Academy team. We are looking to recruit a progressive and passionate sports physiotherapist to contribute to our objective to Outrun, Out Fight, Out Play the opposition. The successful candidate will be motivated by optimising the development of players in our Academy system.

Role Responsibilities:
Work as part of an innovative physical performance team including physiotherapists, sport scientists, conditioning coaches, and data scientists to optimise player physical development, performance, and availability.
Provide physiotherapy and medical support to the Pro-Development Phase squads (primarily the U18s) during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Provide pitch-side support for Pro-Development Phase fixtures
Assist in the delivery of CPD to the physical performance department to enhance support across all disciplines.
Employ evidence-based practise during treatment aligned with objective return to play markers following standardised RTP pathways for key injuries.
Recording and maintaining accurate e-assessment notes, general medical notes and formulation of a Weekly Rehabilitation Plan for injured players on PMA.
Any other duties as requested by line management.
To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club’s Safeguarding agenda.
To complete mandatory eLearning modules in relation to Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity upon the request of your Line Manager.
To be an ambassador for best practice around the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.

Essential Criteria for the role:
BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent degree.
Current registration with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) or Society of Sports Therapists (SST) (if undergoing on the Pre-registration Physiotherapy course).
Current registration with the hcpc (Physiotherapy).
Pitch-side experience.
Clinical experience in the musculoskeletal setting including the use of contemporary methods of injury management and functional rehabilitation as part of a return to play pathway.
Valid first aid/basic life support certificate or pitch-side qualification (ITMMiF or equivalent).
Driving licence with facilties to travel to multiple locations as required.
Pitch Side qualification: ITMMIF or higher.

Desirable Criteria for the role:
Previous experience in working in Football or professional sport.
Certificate of strapping/taping.
Previous experience of using PMA
MSc in Physiotherapy.
Strength and Conditioning Accreditation / Attendance of UKSCA workshops.
