Job Description
Lincoln City Football Club is seeking to appoint an individual into post as Academy Sport Therapist on a part-time basis.
Reporting to the Head of Academy Sport Science & Medicine, the successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the treatment, management and rehabilitation of injuries, primarily across the U9-16 age groups.
Purpose of the post:
Encompassing a wide range of both personal and professional skills, the Academy Sport Therapist is tasked with providing an elite level service to all academy players and the continued development of the Academy’s Sport Science and Medicine department. The individual should possess outstanding levels of self-awareness and interpersonal dexterity to communicate effectively across the multi-disciplinary team as part of the Academy drive to operate a programme that is both varied and holistic in its outlook.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific:
• Provide assessment, treatments and rehabilitation to all academy players as required.
• Provide first aid for both training sessions and match days (U9-16) where required.
• Ensure the Academy medical department is fully compliant with PGAAC safe to operate guidelines.
• Lead/contribute to the Academy medical CPD programme.
• Contribute to the clubs EAPs for all academy training and match day venues.
• Keep up to date and accurate medical records using the PMA.
• Communicate appropriately and professionally with coaches regularly.
• Communicate appropriately and professionally with players, parents and relevant stakeholders.
General:
• Carry out duties in accordance with all relevant company policies, including, but not limited to, the Health and Safety Policy, Code of Conduct Policy, Safeguarding Policy, Equality and Diversity Policy, Financial Regulation Policy and social media policy:
• To safeguard and promote the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk;
• To be vigilant and support all safety and security operations;
• Act always with utmost good faith to the Club, Foundation and the Company;
• Devote full attention and ability to fulfilment of the duties required by the role;
• Other duties as reasonably requested by a member of the senior management staff;
• To work closely with partnership organisations, to maintain good relationships and collaborative working practices;
• To work with colleagues throughout Lincoln City Football Club & Foundation to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice;
• Deal with enquiries and general day-to-day liaison with customers, colleagues and partners;
• Carry out general office duties including data recording, filing, photocopying, sending and receiving emails;
• Active participation on continuing professional development and the appraisal process;
• To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job;
• To maintain the quality of service provision, regularly evaluating work and seeking to make improvements;
• Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner always;
• To cover as and when required at other departments within Lincoln City Football Club & Foundation;
• To recognise commercial opportunities across all products within Lincoln City Football Club & Foundation;
• Promote the brand identity and increase Lincoln City fan base throughout;
• To support the Lincoln City Football Club green energy saving strategy and meet all requirements including but not exclusive to recycling, waste reduction, energy efficiency; and
• Any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by the Chief Executive.

Personal Skills/Characteristics
Experience
Prior experience and understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and use of the PMA for record keeping.
Previous experience of working in professional sport (ideally within a professional football academy setting).
Knowledge and understanding of effective practice across multi-disciplinary teams.
Passion for helping to support and develop young people through a holistic lens.
Qualifications and training
BSc Sport Therapy/ Sport Rehabilitation
SST/ STA / BASRaT membership
ITMMiF qualification.
FA Safeguarding Children Certification.
ATMMiF qualification.
Personal circumstances
Ability and willingness to work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel independently
Full clean driving license
Midas D1 driving license
