JOB PURPOSE |
• Assist Elite Performance Department in the delivery of the athletic development programmes to all age groups within the structure of Reading Football Club.
• Working with the Lead Academy Sports Scientist and Lead S&C Coach, Coaches, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and other support staff to deliver an interdisciplinary approach to performance development
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
• Assist coaching staff with set-up and de-rig of sessions.
• Hydration, Saliva, pre training assessment and presentation.
• Undertake age group physical testing as directed.
• Undertake Anthropometric testing as directed.
• Deliver athletic development sessions, strength development session, Pre-hab, Re-hab as directed by Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach (LASC), Lead Academy Sports Scientist (LASS) and Head of Performance (HAP), and age appropriate medical staff and coaching staff.
• Set-up, download and presentation of training load using Heart rate monitors and GPS units.
• In association with LASC, LASS, HAP, and academy medical staff oversee weekly training intensities and keep up-to-date logs of such data.
• Maintain up to date records and reviews on the club PMA (performance Management Application) in conjunction with EPPP/ Premier League Requirements and Regulations as demanded by HAP and Academy Manager
• Contribute where appropriate to the development centres programme.
• Overseeing all academy sessions where appropriate.
• Filling drinks bottles/ recovery shakes, and setting out any other nutritional strategies as directed.
• Set-up ice bath and other recovery practices.
• Assistance with and delivery of warm-ups, physical development sessions, re-hab and pre-hab sessions.
• Keeping all records up to date on club PMA.
• Liaise with all appropriate staff in relation to the above listed responsibilities.
• Perform any other duties as requested as directed by Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach (LASC), Lead Academy Sports Scientist (LASS) and Head of Performance (HAP), and age appropriate medical staff and coaching staff, Academy Manager and Director of Football.
• Overseeing all academy sessions where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE |
BSc in Sports Science or related discipline
UKSCA accreditation or ability to obtain in 6-month
FA Coaching Level 1
Driving Licence
Experience of working in Elite Sport, preferably football
