Job Description
Summary
We’re looking for someone to create a calendar of events and activities in the beautiful surroundings of Delamere Forest as part of our Active Forest programme. You’ll be working with partners and using data to monitor and evaluate visitor experiences to help create a sustainable vision for a wide range of events.
Background
The Active Forest programme aims to create a sporting habit for life for visitors to the nation’s forests in England. The programme provides engaging, inspirational and motivating physical activity opportunities for new and existing Forest users. The key aspects of the programme are delivered through partnership and engagement; communication and monitoring; and evaluating.
Delamere Forest, at 972 hectares, is the largest wooded area in Cheshire. It sits on the Cheshire Plain, near the town of Frodsham, nestled between the major conurbations of Manchester, Liverpool and Chester. The site is a popular outdoor recreation site, attracting 750,000 visits per year and has captured the imagination of many families who return with all the generations to walk, cycle, play or attend events such as Forest Live concerts.
Delamere Forest is undergoing a multi-million pound investment to improve the visitor experience including ANPR car park, welcome building with improved toilet facilities, bike hire and a new Cafe due to open Summer 2020. Further improvements are scheduled for our trail network including running routes, family cycle sections and a health and wellbeing trail.

Purpose of the job
To develop a range of internal and external partnerships to coordinate and deliver a varied physical activity and wellbeing programme at Delamere Forest.
As the post involves dealing with contacts across FC England, regular travel with occasional stays away from home is a requirement of this post. It is expected that the post holder will work weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities
Essential experience;
Previous experience of developing relationships and working effectively with internal and external partners.
A track record of delivering successful customer focused activities in a recreational environment.
Desirable experience;
Your physical activity or events-based experience will include marketing and/or promotion, management of health and safety and monitoring and evaluation.
Knowledge of working with Sport England, National Governing Bodies , health providers and Forestry England

Key Work Areas
• Taking the lead from the Active Forest (AF) delivery strategy develop and deliver a specific site delivery plan.
• Work with a range of internal and external partners, including health organisations, to develop a programme of customer focused physical activity experiences
• Work with internal AF management and district marketing teams to develop marketing and communications activity to promote events and activities.
• Undertake in-depth site monitoring and evaluation to help inform delivery plans
• Ensure full integration with the local site team by incorporating into the duty system offering frontline visitor support and reactive response to incidents as required.
• Tap into local experience & knowledge base by working with existing site teams.
• Where appropriate, a small proportion of your time will involve developing and directly delivering sports activities. Much of the physical activity and wellbeing programme will be delivered through partners.
• In line with national & local guidance develop, introduce and coordinate volunteers to support delivery.
• Representing site interests participate in AF programme networking opportunities where appropriate
