Assistant Editor – Roubini Global Economics – London, England

The core of Roubini’s service is syndicated research provided to 15,000 readers around the world. The Assistant Editor works directly for the Managing Editor, and partners with our research and sales teams to deliver our insights to our clients. This is an opportunity to gain experience in copy editing and research production.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensuring consistency and quality across our publications
Copy-editing and fact-checking reports on economic and financial trends
Managing production on Roubini.com using a WordPress content management system
Summarising our research for compilation in daily and weekly newsletters
Using social media (especially Twitter, Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn) to drive site traffic
Editing and drafting marketing materials
Tailoring research for individual clients

Requirements

Permission to work in the UK
University degree; economics, politics, journalism or English preferred
Professional editing experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for diplomacy
Ability to succinctly convey complex economic issues with an engaging writing style
Attention to detail (and ability to prove it with a copy-editing test)
Ability to multitask and appropriately prioritise tasks under pressure
Interest in economics, political science or international affairs, and familiarity with economic and financial lingo
Interest in online media and, ideally, experience using a content management system
Familiarity with social media and blogging platforms (Twitter, Tweetdeck, WordPress)
Deftness with the Microsoft Office suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint—as well as Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat
