An exciting small interior design firm, specialising in boutique projects and consultancy is seeking a confident assistant project manager to work on a range of innovative projects from small private clients to high profile international brands.
The ideal candidate will have several years experience in creative production background assisting with delivery of projects on time and on budget. Candidates will have ideally worked in a small to medium creative company, are competent, motivated with exceptional communication skills.
This is not a design role.
Reports to:
Managing director, project managers and senior interior designer
Full time (this is predominantly an office based Monday – Friday role, however occasionally you will be required to attend various project sites and work flexible hours when deadlines occur.)
Start date: as soon as possible
Key duties and responsibilities:
To support project managers and design team including:
sourcing and ordering materials
attend meetings with senior members of staff and clients, maintain project notes and minutes
maintain clear and effective communication on all project details
creating and updating documents and spread sheets – client proposals, costing documents, timelines, purchase orders, invoices, etc
liaising with building and planning authorities
liaising with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
some client liaison
coordination of information with accounts department
maintenance of filing systems and databases including digital and sample libraries for projects
Ideal candidate will have:
all-round experience and ambition to grow into project management role
background in production in creative industry
ability to handle stress and work to tight deadlines
ability to handle multiple projects at various stages at any given time willingness to roll up sleeves, muck in and use muscle if required for installations
passion for interior design and the creative industries
a positive approach to work and excellent work ethic including ability to prioritise and re-prioritise
excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of word processing, spread-sheets and presentation software packages, predominantly Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of other software is a plus
internet competency
excellent command of English, verbal and written
experience as support to senior staff
excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues
ability to organise and plan own work
exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication with a wide range of contacts both internal and external to the companies
ability to assimilate large quantities of written and verbal communication quickly and produce accurate, timely minutes
excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
ability to work on own initiative
ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times
