Haberdashery London are an east London based consultancy who converge art, design and technology. We make lighting based sculptures, products and experiences for a range of high profile clients.
We are looking for an assistant to the design and production manager who can aid in the management and operational aspects of multiple, concurrent projects.
We design, assemble and install all of our work, manufacturing it using a vast number of different suppliers. So proven experience of managing projects and working with design teams is essential. As well as experience working closely with manufacturers, quality checking and excellent time management and organisational skills.

Key responsibilities will include:
Design and production
creating presentation and communication documents
attending client briefings, design review meetings and site visits and recording meeting minutes
sourcing new materials and suppliers and maintaining relationships with existing ones
negotiating with and obtaining competitive quotes from suppliers
ensuring suppliers deliver items on time and to the required quality
Project management
assisting the design and production manager in the planning and management of all client projects including design tasks and associated work
assisting in the scheduling of work and projects taking into account all other projects plus studio and supplier capacity
assisting the designers in the planning and execution of their projects to ensure all work is delivered promptly to deadline and on budget
obtaining explicit design, budget and schedule approvals from clients
planning the installation of our works: coordinating with site contractors and project managers, creating method statements, risk assessments and O&M manuals
ensuring all site access for physical works is fully understood: times/requirements/equipment/door and corridor sizes/access at height
being fully responsible for the success of all tasks allocated to you
General
ensuring all projects are suitably documented throughout the design process through photography and videography, as well as being graded and filed within the Haberdashery system
maintaining and enforcing company document control and filling policy
leading by example with an energetic and positive attitude whilst delivering challenging projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Required experience/skills
a minimum of two years work experience managing design related projects
excellent written and verbal communication
Adobe Suite and MS Office
proficiency in InDesign is an essential requirement
being highly organised with an aptitude for problem solving
experience managing project budgets for fabrication
knowledge of manufacturing techniques would be favourable
having rigorous attention to detail and quality control
having an interest in and knowledge of design related trends and events
You must be entitled to work in the UK. Salary dependent on experience.
