Audience Development Assistant is a new role central to the growth of SCI’s events strategy. It requires the creation of targeted editorial content focused on a number of sectors in the financial markets, which becomes a meaningful part of a potential subscriber’s information needs. The objective is to engender brand loyalty to encourage subscribers to attend SCI’s events and purchase the company’s research.

This role requires someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, an interest in finance, a thorough knowledge of online and social media (which will form a significant portion of the output), and the ability to manage several projects at once (you will be developing content focusing on several sectors). Although working as part of a team, the successful candidate will also need to be a self-starter.

In time, the role will expand to become integral to the development of SCI’s conference programme itself and require the Audience Development Assistant to help with event content origination and liaising with speakers.

The successful candidate is most likely to be a graduate journalist, but other disciplines will be considered. A desire to learn, a flexible approach and a positive attitude to work life are highly advantageous.

SCI will pay NMW (national minimum wage) during the internship. At any time during this period, SCI may offer permanent paid employment; otherwise the internship will lapse at a maximum of three months duration.

SCI has a successful track record of recruiting interns who have been offered permanent employment with the company. We take internships seriously and will not continue on a NMW paid basis if we intend to offer permanent employment.
