Job Description
JOB TITLE: Basketball Coach
HOURS: 30-40 hours per week (including evenings/weekends)
RATE: £17,000-£20,000 (depending on experience)
LOCATION: London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, London, UK

OVERALL ROLE: Richmond Knights Basketball Club requires enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to progress our rapidly expanding basketball development programme.

CRITERIA FOR COACHING SESSIONS

i) Plan and deliver a comprehensive basketball training programme across a range of age-groups and ability levels.
ii) Develop training sessions in partnership with the local schools, council, college and university.
iii) Set-up and deliver inter-school competitions.
iv) Coach teams in local and national league competitions/tournaments and/or College and University Teams.
v) Delivery of our leadership programme to junior leaders.
vi) Communicate the activities of the club across a variety of formats, including social media.
vii) Act as a role model and mentor to the young people in the club.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
i) Trained to a minimum of Level 2 Coach standard, with experience of coaching all abilities from primary school beginners to national league and county/regional players.
ii) 1st Aid at Work qualification.
iii) Passionate and enthusiastic about helping individuals reach their potential.
iv) Ability to communicate effectively across many levels through a variety of formats.
v) Pro-active and self-motivated to work to a high standard using your own initiative and to manage your own workload effectively.
vi) Must have own vehicle

PREFERRED SKILLS
i) Safeguarding & Protecting Children certificate.
ii) Level 2 Referee & Table Official qualification.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a DBS check before starting work and will be expected to adhere to the clubs Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
