Job Description
Over the last two seasons British Ski and Snowboard (BSS) has begun to rebuild its presence in top class Alpine ski racing. Over the last twelve months it has expanded its support for its Men’s World Cup Slalom programme. It has also established a Women’s World Cup team.
BSS is now seeking to expand its support for our British elite Alpine athletes. We are seeking to recruit at least three additional coaches to work with our current well established team.
First BSS is looking to build its Women’s team, which should involve the addition of one or possibly two coaches to work with the current Head Coach. This team will be aimed at World Cup and Continental Cup and the coach should have experience that will help at these levels. They will need to be comfortable working as part of a small group and also taking athletes to events on their own.
Second BSS is looking to establish a small group of Men to embark on a programme that is designed to give them every opportunity to become successful EC skiers over a 2-3 year period. This project is expected to need two coaching appointments, one Senior and one Junior. The team will need to have relevant experience of helping athletes at around these levels.
People interested in the senior roles should have a deep understanding of the requirements of Alpine ski racing, International Ski federation competition rules and experience of coaching world class athletes. Good written and spoken English skills are also an advantage. If you are interested in being part of an exciting rebuilding project then please send a letter of application detailing why you are the right person for this role and a cv for the attention of Mr Tony Willis at bss@teambss.org
