Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.

We work with over 70 local, regional, and national partners in five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. The role
As restrictions are lifted we are looking to add a Café Supervisor to our team of employees and volunteers at the Community Kitchen, located at Unit 83 in the Upper Market Square of Charter Walk Shopping Centre (above New Look) in the heart of Burnley town centre.
Burnley FC in the Community operates this community hub which includes a café and foodbank which since lockdown commenced on 23rd March 2020, it has:
• Distributed over 5,000 food parcels
• Fed over 8,500 people, over 3,500 of which have been children.
Reporting to the CK Manager, the Café Supervisor will be expected to be a conscientious and outgoing individual.

Duties will include:
• Supervise the daily running of the Burnley Community Kitchen.
• Supervising and coaching a small team of volunteers and employability scheme students.
• Work with and help develop the team members, providing support and knowledge to aid them in gaining employability skills from our café.
• Ensuring our customers are greeted with a friendly, warm and professional attitude.
• Ensuring customers are served in a professional and timely manner, including taking and preparing food orders, taking payment and cash handling.
• Support the team to provide a waiting service, cleaning and resetting tables.
• Ensure kitchen duties such as cleaning plates, operating a commercial dishwasher, preparing of food and condiments are done to a high standard.
• General duties such as stock replenishment and rotation and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards, centre rules, regulations and policies.
• To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
• Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
• A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.

An ideal candidate will have;
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Previous experience of working in a café/restaurant (desirable).
• Previous experience of supervising volunteers (desirable)
• Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
• Meticulous standards.
• Outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
