JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE PURPOSE
To coach and develop young players within the club’s South East Regional Academy, preparing them for elite academy level football in the youth development phase.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 To coach age groups between the ages of 11-15 years, including individual, small group and full group sessions, implementing a Player Development programme which maximise the opportunities for young players to reach their full potential across all age groups in line with the company’s player development plan and philosophy.
 Working within the academy curriculum, plan, prepare and evaluate coaching sessions and players within those sessions ensuring they are uploaded to the DC cloud.
 Ensure that the registration of players attending sessions is logged in the correct manner as set out by the Club.
 Monitor and assess the players at the South East Regional Academy in training and in match performances. Keeping and maintaining all appropriate records using the methods prescribed by the company for the auditing of players.
 Prepare and conduct player / parent reviews on a school termly basis using the standard Player Review Templates and ensure that such reviews are carried out following the SFC Player review protocol document.
 Provide regular written and verbal feedback to the Academy and Recruitment Department on player progress ensuring the completion of Player Evaluation Forms at end of a trial period.
 Liaise with your line manager when players are ready for progression to the main academy programme.
 Ensure weekly communication on players within your care to other key academy staff working in that age range at the club.
 Contribute to and take part in a programme of continuing professional development as and when required by the club.

 Undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
 Inform your line manager of any player / family issues on football or non-related football matters concerning players within your care.
 Coach and manage an academy age group at ‘development’ games and other fixtures.
 Contribute to the Scouting and Recruitment process where appropriate in relation to the South East Regional Academy.
 Undertake administrative tasks related to the role.
 Liaise with parents as required to communicate any new information regarding the South East Regional Academy and its programme.
 Responsible for both individual health & safety and that of those who you are responsible for.
 Ensure the relationship with children and vulnerable adults is appropriate and language, behaviour and demeanour is suitable. The Company will expect you to undertake training to ensure an understanding of best practice in relation to Children and/or Vulnerable Adults.
 You will be responsible for the welfare of children in your care and should not leave them in the care of others.
 A criminal disclosure and identity check will be carried out.
 Ad hoc duties as requested by Management.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience
Experience of working with foundation and or Youth Development age players.
Experience of working within professional football at junior/ youth level.
Experience of working with a variety of schoolboy age groups.
Experience of coordinating coaches and football development centres.
Qualifications (incl. certifications)
UEFA B License (or working towards).
Age appropriate FA certification (FA Youth Modules).
Skills
Excellent communication skills.
