Position: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Leicester with national and some international travel
Salary: Circa £60,000 + relocation package if required

British Skydiving is the national governing body for Skydiving in the UK. We were founded in 1961 and our primary role is to organise, govern, facilitate and advance the sport in the UK. Our Patron is His Majesty King Charles III.
British Skydiving is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer as part of the restructure of the organisation. This is an exciting time to join us, with the imminent publication of our 2023-2028 strategic plan and the creation of a new management structure to ensure we can meet the future demands of the sport.
The Chief Executive Officer will provide exceptional leadership and management to achieve the organisation’s purpose, vision, strategic priorities, and values, leading the team to ensure high levels of stakeholder engagement with members, affiliated clubs, external partners, and international organisations.
Responsibilities for British Skydiving CEO:
Strategy
• Develop business strategies in support of the overarching
Strategic Plan
Governance
• Ensure the organisation has adequate resources (including staff
with the right skills and expertise) and is appropriately
organised/structured to deliver successfully against the approved
strategy
• Define and implement a performance management system which
recognises the work of your team and incentivises goal
achievement
• Develop the good governance operations framework across the
organisation in support of the values of British Skydiving
• Ensure the organisation is compliant with employment law, CAA
standards and any other relevant legislation (safeguarding etc..)
Finance
• Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue
• Establish and monitor operational plans and financial control
systems
• Commercial / Partnerships
• Develop a framework for commercial opportunities that support
the financial stability of the organisation
• Maintain existing relationships and build new partnerships which
enhance the sport
• Develop and foster strong solutions-focused communication
across the team and Board of Directors
Leadership
• Provide inspired leadership for the organisation
• Lead and motivate direct reports through a positive culture
focused on people outcomes
• Promote a culture that encourages and represents the values of
British Skydiving
• Support the focus on wellbeing across the team
• Develop long-term sustainable working partnerships
• Drive collaboration across the organisation, members, clubs,
partners and volunteers
Experience and skills for British Skydiving CEO:
• Extensive experience of working at executive or senior
management level
• Experience leading transformational change and conflict
resolution
• Commercially astute with proven ability to drive new and existing
revenue opportunities
• Experience of driving strategy and achieving outstanding results
• Understanding of risk management procedures for all aspects of
the business, including health and safety and the policies and
procedures to support this
• Level set emotional intelligence, with the credibility to nurture
solid working relationships
• A working understanding and application of best practice in
inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Confident in implementing performance management processes
• Understanding of the importance of good governance, including
the structures and discipline required to deliver the stated
outcomes
• Competent in the use of IT
Preferred experience
• Knowledge of the sporting and / or aviation landscape
• Understanding of health, safety and security frameworks
• Knowledge of insurance frameworks within the aviation and /or
sport industry
