“Scottish Cycling is well placed to be at the forefront and flourish as the fast approaching 2023 Cycling World Championships showcase all forms of cycling in Scotland to the world.”

Chief Executive, Scottish Cycling
Scottish Cycling (SC) is the national governing body for cycling in Scotland and works in conjunction with British and Welsh Cycling, and together they are the governing bodies of the sport of cycling across the UK.
Scottish Cycling works hard to develop the sport across multiple disciplines and at all levels, from grass roots to the performance development programmes which feed into the Great Britain Cycling Team and Team Scotland for the Commonwealth Games.
The SC team, based out of the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, engages with club networks to help them grow, to develop coaching, education and volunteer opportunities, to facilitate a calendar of events throughout Scotland and to help groups and individuals become engaged with the world of cycling.
The current Chief Executive, Craig Burn, is leaving the organisation after a very successful nine years to take on a new role with the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. Therefore, we are looking for an outstanding Chief Executive to take over the reins and run this exciting organisation. The Chief Executive will build relationships, bringing individuals together to work as a team within Scottish Cycling, as well as engaging with others to move forward the Scottish Cycling agenda.
You will be a dynamic, innovative leader, with proven experience of running a growing business, executing ideas and making things happen, creating a vision, inspiring others and leading them in an effective and motivating way.
You will be joining a focussed and skilled leadership team which has significant experience in the sport and governing body, and so direct ‘industry’ experience is not essential. Experience and an understanding of the key drivers of a membership organisation and the challenges and opportunities that structure creates would, however, be highly relevant as would some knowledge of corporate sponsorship and complex stakeholder management structures.
