Children’s Sports Coaching Manager
We are looking for a unique individual to run an already amazing team. You need to have a passion for sports and a desire to work with children. Essentially, we are seeking someone who is fun, adaptable and thinks on their feet. An individual that can fulfil a managerial role but also be one of the team.
Weekly hours of work 39. Hours will vary to meet business needs, full availability required.

Skills required
• The skill to confidently lead a sports coaching session;
• the ability to quickly develop successful working relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of sporting ability;
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• team-building ability;
• buckets of enthusiasm, flexibility and patience;
• awareness of equality and diversity issues, including those related to sport and disability;
• organisational skills;

Planning and administration
• capable of producing personalised session plans;
• maintaining records for participants, including attendance at sports sessions;
• planning and running programmes of activities for groups and individuals;
• seeking and applying for sponsorship agreements;
• finding appropriate competitions for participants;
• planning and marketing the business to expand the business brand and gain new services;
• planning your own work schedule.

Responsibilities
• day to day running of sessions, including managing staff and rotas;
• leading sessions with various aged players, while being adaptive to the needs and interests of the group or individual participants;
• communicating instructions and commands using clear, simple language;
• demonstrating an activity by breaking the task down into a sequence;
• encouraging participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques;
• ensuring that participants train and perform to a high standard of health and safety at all times;
• working with IT-based resources to maintain records;
• acting as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the people you work with;
• working to a high legal and ethical standard always, particularly in relation to issues such as child safeguarding and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications
• vast sporting experience with children;
• coaching qualification in preferred sport;
• managerial experience;
