London Broncos are an established rugby league team in a progressive and exciting phase in the clubs history. The club has relocated to Trailfinder’s sports club in Ealing where professional, academy (Under 19’s) and scholarship (Under 16’s) teams train and play. The club is extremely ambitious and has clear goals of retaining super league status.
An opportunity has arisen to become part of an expanding and progressive medical department at London Broncos Rugby Club. We are looking to recruit a part time Club Doctor to join our multi-disciplinary team on a self-employed basis for next season 2017/18. The role requires flexibility to attend first team fixtures whilst also providing a clinic one afternoon a week.
The successful applicant will provide medical cover for players during first team fixtures and assist the management of injured and ill players through a weekly clinic at the clubs training facility. First team and age group players will have access to the weekly injury clinic and referrals can be made directly to the club doctor or more commonly by the Head of Medical.
The Club Doctor will assist the Head Of Medical oversee the medical and health screening of first team and age group players including the implementation of cardiac screening. The Club Doctor will also be encouraged to participate in current and future research collaborations with local universities and healthcare institutions.
Essential candidate criteria
Fully registered and licenced to practice by the GMC
Appropriate medical indemnity to treat and advise professional rugby players
Advanced emergency first aid qualification (training will be provided)
Experience working with athletes
Desirable candidate criteria
Previous experience working in professional sport
