The Role of the Community Engagement Officer
The main aim for the role is to increase engagement in the community and network of community clubs by establishing a focused programme of support and development linked to community clubs and schools activity in the region.
This role
is being advertised by West London Community CIC and most of the delivery will be in partnership with London Broncos.
This role will be responsible for building the club’s engagement and promotional footprint within and across the community and stakeholder groups, creating and facilitating value based programmes and events, driving promotion of the club’s brand, supporting regional events and competitions and generating match day activities.
Main Accountabilities
To engage and build positive relationships between the London Broncos RL and community clubs and educational institutes in the region
To use the London Broncos RL brand, including player appearances and products to support the established programme and competition structures and to add value and drive interest across all stakeholders
Owning delivery of community–related club match day activities and events. This will include Mascots, Ball Boys and community games.
Ensure that the Media and Communications team are suitably armed with the relevant detail and content.
To undertake ad hoc projects, tasks and assignments across the community, as seen appropriate by the London Broncos RL.
Regular visits to Community Clubs to have a presence on Community Club training nights.
To manage and support the delivery of identified Primary and Secondary Schools participation activity throughout the region. Support the delivery of CPD to schools and community clubs as instructed.
Person Specification – Essential Personal Characteristics
Minimum Level 2 Rugby League Qualification / Full clean Driving Licence / Current Enhanced DBS / Current Safeguarding children in sport.
Managed relationships with community-based organisations, good understanding of Rugby League and the voluntary sector of sport.
Experience in community related events.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, ability to quickly build trust and relationships.
IT literate and competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
The ability to adapt & respond quickly to environment changes. Pro-active and a self-starter.
Good organisational and planning skills (must be able to prioritise workload especially at busy times).
