Construction News, Features Editor – Cision Group Limited

About the role:
Construction News is seeking an ambitious and talented journalist with experience of writing long-form content.
As Features Editor you will take the lead on all of Construction News’s long-form content. This includes features, interviews, investigations, project reports, audience surveys and comment pieces. You will regularly produce such material yourself, and commission and assign work to others.
Construction is a nationally important industry, and you will be expected to delve deep into its big stories to give CN subscribers greater insight than the mainstream media. You will also write shorter news articles on a regular basis to support the news coverage of the website and magazine.

About you:
Experienced journalist with an understanding of media law. Ability to write, research and edit agenda-setting news and features. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines. Confident interviewer, capable of asking pertinent questions. Prior knowledge of the construction industry is ideal but not essential.

Key Accountabilities:
Sourcing and writing relevant features to strict deadlines.
Copy-editing skills to ensure content is of a high standard.
Representing the brand at events.
Sustaining good relationships with industry contacts.
Maintaining a detailed awareness of industry developments.
