About the opportunity:
We are looking for an Education Tutor to join our growing Everton in the Community team.
The Twinning Project is a national initiative, which pairs professional football clubs with both male and female prisons in England and Wales. The Twinning Plus programme looks to combine football and education, supported by prison PE officers, to co-deliver accredited coaching and employability based qualifications to prisoners, and to better prepare them for life after their release.
The purpose of the Education Tutor role is to deliver Functional Skills English Level 1 in conjunction with the HM Prison & Probation Service Twinning Project Plus at HMP Liverpool.
The Education Tutor will plan for, teach and support participants to complete their functional skills qualification. They will achieve this through delivering classroom based sessions. Working closely with the Football coach, the post holder will plan, design and deliver sessions to maximise participant progress and the achievement of programme KPI’s.

Other key responsibilities will include: 
To prepare and review session plans, scheme of work and teaching/learning materials using initial assessments and marked work to take into account the learners’ individual needs
Deliver and assess content for Functional Skills – English Level 1 in line with the aims and objectives of the Twinning Project
Differentiate learning to meet individual learners’ needs including providing extra support for learners with LDD needs
Be innovative to engage and motivate difficult and challenging individuals
Work closely with staff from partner organisations, including prisons, to provide wrap around support, providing effective communication and sharing relevant information.
Safeguarding
To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an individual who is Dynamic, personable and highly self-motivated. You will be people focused and able to develop and build existing and new working relationships
Essentially, the successful candidate must hold a teaching qualification, at minimum a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include: 
At least Level 3 in English
Prior experience of teaching English
IT literate to a good level and competent
Certificate/Training in Safeguarding
Relevant training in health and safety and child protection
Full UK Driving Licence
This role will be offered on a Fixed Term contract, working 35 hours per week.
The location will be predominantly based at HMP Liverpool
