First Team Assistant Coach – Sheffield United Football Club – Sheffield

Job Description
Sheffield United Women’s First Team are recruiting for an Assistant Coach to work alongside and support the Head Coach in delivering the required coaching to the First Team players, supporting the aims and objectives of the development of SUFC Women’s First Team.
Please note that this is a fixed term, full time position for the 2023/24 season, with the possibility of the role to be extended for further seasons.

Role Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to the first team Head Coach.
To attend all training sessions and matches.
To ensure that all playing, training and relevant information on all SUFC Women’s First Team players and Goalkeeper’s is recorded on the WPS and is kept up to date at all times throughout the season.
Assist in Implementing a training programme in line with LTPD guidelines.
Supporting the aims and objectives of the England international development pathway from youth teams to senior team.
Ensure high standards of coaching delivery across the first team and development team taking into account current elite good practice.
Assist and develop the team and players, whilst overseeing a continuous professional development programme, to include a comprehensive mentoring strategy, for coaches and support staff involved within the Club.
Ensuring and adhering to The FA standards for safeguarding children.
Formal monitoring and evaluation of player and coach performance of the Club.
Maintain positive relations and regular contact with key England International staff (Head Coach/Director of Elite Development/relevant age group coaches and Player Performance staff).
To carry out/take part in training requests and CPD as directed by the Club.
Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club’s Safeguarding agenda.

Essential Criteria for the role:
UEFA B License holder
FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid).
Experience of and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite young and senior players and/or coaches.
Track record of consistent high performance in a professional sporting environment.
Empathy with young players with an ability to inspire.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with club staff.
Understanding of learning, development and high performance with a proven ability to create optimum learning environments for players.
Aware of diversity and equality challenges in football.
Empathy and commitment to the long-term development of the game
Strong existing relationships within the Women’s pyramid in England.
Willingness to be flexible with attending work to ensure all aspects of the role are completed as per operational requirements.
Ability to travel independently for fixture, training and other cover as required.
Desirable Criteria for the role:

UEFA A Licence holder
Experience in Elite Women’s football or demonstrate similar, relevant experience.
