First Team Physiotherpaist/Sports Therapist – Coventry United Women Football Club – England

Job Description
THE ROLE
The role ideally suits someone passionate about working in a fast-paced and exciting football environment. Working in a multi-professional team, you will help oversee the medical management of players on a day-to-day basis which will typically include:
– Assessment and treatment of acute injuries.
– Pitchside first aid and trauma management.
– Design and delivery of acute and early-stage injury management strategies.
– Delivery of late-stage gym and pitch-based rehabilitation.
– Health screening and baseline profiling of players, including concussion.
– Ensuring all injury and medical records are updated on the Women’s Performance System in line with your professional body and FA guidelines.
The role offered will be a fixed number of hours per week based on your circumstances; this will be a minimum of 20 hours up to a full-time position of 38 hours per week.

THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated university graduate who will be an approachable point of contact for players. The candidate’s attributes, experience and qualifications include:

ESSENTIAL
1. Fully qualified BSc Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist or Sports Rehabilitator*
2. Membership of an appropriate professional body with Physiotherapists also requiring HCPC registration*
3. Appropriate medical malpractice and public liability insurance to work with FA Women’s Championship players*
4. FA intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) qualification or other valid first aid qualification and willing to complete ITMMiF on appointment*
5. Good communicator with ethical values.
6. A strong desire to learn and advance as a medical practitioner in football.
*Applicants who do not meet criteria 1-4 will not be considered for an interview as these are the minimum requirements to work in the FA Women’s Championship.

DESIRABLE
– FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification.
– Knowledge and understanding of female injury and physiology.
– Good powers of clinical reasoning and willingness to embrace evidence-based practice.
– Experience working in football (placement/internship/employment).
– Post-graduation experience working with elite or full-time athletes.
– History of continuing professional development.
