Job Purpose:
To assist in the maintenance of the historic gardens and the College campus.
Apprenticeship: Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship (Learners must achieve level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths prior to completion of this apprenticeship if needed)
Reports to: Head Gardener
Grade/Salary: £7984.60 per annum (£4.15 per hour) paid in monthly instalments. This is the National Apprenticeship rate of pay for apprentices if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship. Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW) for their age if they are aged 19 or over and once they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship. Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday and occasional weekends with flexibility to meet business needs
Status: Fixed-Term for 24 months or until the qualification has been achieved, whichever is the earlier
Vision:For this role, we are looking for someone interested in making horticulture their career. Working in a historic landscape assisting the gardens team and having the opportunity to work practically while at the same time gaining valuable horticulture knowledge. Willingness to work and enthusiasm for the subject are the essential requirement.
