Great Britain Senior Men’s Strength & Conditioning Coach – British Volleyball Federation – England

Job Description
To lead the physical development of the GB Men’s squad members through individual plans that are created, monitored and evaluated, complementing the performance plans of the head coach and in conjunction with the other support staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To develop, plan, communicate, and evaluate individualised S&C programmes for each squad member in line with the requirements of the programme.
Attend monthly training camps – when required – to test, monitor, and evaluate the athletes and their physical development. Running on court S&C sessions within the context of the head coach’s annual training plan.
Remotely monitor athlete S&C programme adherence, being proactive in gaining relevant evidence-based understanding of the athlete’s progress.
To develop relationships with all athletes and staff members across the senior and performance pathway, communicating and sharing plans and best practice.
To regularly meet (online) to feedback on athlete status with the full staff team to enhance the athletes’ performance in line with the programme plan.
To work as a support services team for the athletes and British Volleyball, liaising with the staff to identify and address any athletes weaknesses or imbalances.
To work with the BVF staff to plan, monitor and evaluate the full programme.
To empower all staff members to fulfil their roles and maximise the efficiency of the programme.
To uphold all BVF policies related to selection, safeguarding, date protection, equality and any other policy that is relevant.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must:
Hold an S&C UKSCA certificate or working towards it, and/or completing a undergraduate degree in S&C or above.
At least 1 years S&C coaching of senior athletes.
Experience of developing athlete development plans, ideally within a team sport environment.
To be able to learn and understand the requirements of the sport of sitting volleyball.
Have the ability to test athletes to monitor progress.
Have a strong understanding of high performance, elite sport.
Demonstrate coaching and leadership qualities.
Understand how individual players are motivated and can vary approaches to develop the very best performance and to bring the best out of existing talent
Able to communicate fluently in English both written and verbally and be computer literate
Willing to work irregular hours and travel extensively with overnight stays and weekend work
Willing to learn and continue personal development
Willing and able to sign all policies and undergo training where relevant to the position as identified by the BVF, including anti-doping, safeguarding, equality etc.
Have a current DBS.
Tenure: This job will be offered on a fixed term basis, subject to annual reviews, until the March 31st 2025, based on UK Sport funding allocations.
Starting Salary: This is a non-salaried position (Expenses will be paid in line with the BVF expenses policy)
Period of Notice: 1 month
Hours of Work: Your normal hours of work are those hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of your position to the satisfaction of the BVF and for delivery at camps and competitions
