We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard working and dynamic Head Academy Physiotherapist. The successful applicant will be driven to advance, develop and improve an already high performing academy medical department.

Job Description:
The role of the Head Academy Physiotherapist will be to deliver a professional, dynamic and detailed medical service across our whole academy. The role will cover player’s aged U15-U20 and senior academy. The applicant must be an experienced senior physiotherapist with the ability to practice autonomously; manage and develop links with our satellite sites, under the guidance of the head of medical services and lead physiotherapist. The applicant must provide autonomous diagnosis, treatment, planning and rehabilitation of all our academy players. Effective communication skills are essential.

Essential requirements:
· BSc in Physiotherapy
· Member of the CSP or equivalent insurance provider
· Registration with HCPC
· Experience working in professional/ elite sport
· Current drivers license

Highly desirable:
· Experience in rugby union
· MSc sport physiotherapy/ Equivalent
· ICIS pitch side qualification

Key Responsibilities:
· Liaise with the Head of Medical Service and Lead Physiotherapist in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all academy players from U15s to Senior academy.
· Report and communicate effectively with the academy manager and coaching staff.
· Autonomously plan, develop and implement treatment and rehabilitations plans for injured and rehabilitating academy players.
· Effective communication with our medical teams at our satellite collages (Exeter College, Truro, and Ivybridge) in the development and delivery of medical services.
· Along with the colleges develop and implement an effective and dynamic prehabilaition programme.
· Liaise with our Lead Academy Doctor regarding appropriate medical management and progression of injured players.
· Provide college outreach clinics and educational sessions as and when needed, throughout the season.
· Develop an effective communication pathway with player’s parents to inform and educate them on player medical status.
· Provide pitch side cover for all required academy games- U15s to U20s and senior academy.
· Provide pitch side training cover for EPDG, DPP and development session.
· Assist with daily and weekly musculoskeletal screening of all players as required.
· Assist with the daily maintenance treatment and delivery of rehabilitation to our senior squad when required.
· Keeping documentation on all aspects of injury management in accordance to the standards set by the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
· Assist the medical team with administrative obligations such as injury audits, medical insurance and other matters as required.
· To keep abreast of current best practices, maintain CPD and take an active role in the departments CPD programme.
· To carry out any other duties that may be required by Head of medical services and lead physiotherapist.
