Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Head Gymnastics Coach with a professional, hardworking, positive attitude and excellent communication and timekeeping skills.
Role Overview
The Head Coach’s main responsibility is to lead our delivery of planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) cover in schools, breakfast and after school clubs, club classes and holiday camps. You will also be required to assist with club administration and marketing of programmes while coordinating and managing a coaching team to ensure effective delivery of all sessions.
Level 2 British Gymnastics qualifications or equivalent are required, or relevant experience with the commitment complete a level 2. You must have a desire to improve your professional skills as we will enable you to attend our leadership programme which has courses such as the renowned ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’.
Role and Responsibilities
Head Sports Coach working in our Richmond Upon Thames club and its surrounding schools.
You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
– Leading our delivery of PPA gymnastics cover.
– Working closely with the club administrator to support the managing and scheduling of the team in the gymnastics club, school classes and holiday camps.
– Coaching in the club classes, schools and holiday camps.
– Developing and growing the club through new school links, new classes, increased participation and getting more students developing their skills.
– Working with assistant coaches in classes to help them progress as coaches and continue to build the strong team ethic.
Other responsibilities include:
– Bringing energy and enthusiasm to every session.
– Being professional in your interactions with children, parents, colleagues and schools.
– Being on time for all sessions.
– Safeguarding of the children.
– Safe set up and packing away of equipment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.
– Teaching relevant skills, progressions and techniques.
– Talking with parents about the progress of their children, when necessary.
– Making sure health and safety procedures are being followed.
– Being familiar with and following all club policies and procedures.
Requirements:
– Level 2 British Gymnastics qualification, or equivalent experience
– Driving is desirable
– At least 2 years of coaching experience
– Fluent in English
– You need to have a love for working with children
– Great communication skills and a “can do” attitude
– Highly organised, with strong attention to detail combined with a passion for learning and self-improvement
– Ideally located in or near the area, or able to travel
– Be willing to work hard
