Job Title: Part Time Academy Head of Goalkeeping Coach
Reporting to: Academy Manager
Based at: Weydon School GU9 8UG

Working Hours: A flexible attitude towards working hours is required to meet the role

JOB OBJECTIVE
To ensure the efficient design and delivery of the Goalkeeping Technical Programme of Core Sports coaching Academy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To improve and lead the design of the academy goalkeeping coaching programme for all, including the overseeing and maintaining of regular player reports in line with the our programme.
• Lead the academy technical programme and coaching syllabus.
• Develop and improve the current academy coaching culture.
Deliver the coaching and training and match day programme.
• Assist the Head of Academy Coaching in developing and leading ‘in house’ staff CPD.
• Liaise with phase lead coaches to ensure continuity of syllabus delivery.
• Submit written reports to the Academy Manager.
• Create and deliver individual player assessments highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
• Be committed to the continual improvement of the Academy.
• Undertake academy related tasks where appropriate.
• The development of long term strategies to ensure the successful recruitment and development of elite goalkeepers for all our squads.
• To develop and implement Club philosophies regarding tactical and technical information, ensuring these are delivered and reinforced through effective coaching and mentoring as outlined in the Goalkeeping Coaching Curriculum.
• To foster a positive environment for learning and development within the goalkeeping team.
• With the assistance of the Player Recruitment Team, identify and scout potential goalkeeping target players.
• Complete all administrative tasks including updating and utilising The Sports Office and monitoring of all goalkeeper records.
• Evaluate the goalkeeping provision within the Youth Academy to ensure consistent delivery of the Goalkeeping Coaching Curriculum.

The Head of Goalkeeping should have the Goalkeeping Licence (or equivalent). Experience of goalkeeping coaching in an elite and multidisciplinary environment and designing and implementing GK development programmes are all essential. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively with players, staff and senior management and be adaptable and innovative.
