Intern Civil Society Engagement – EBRD

Purpose of Job
Under the overall direction of the Associate Director, Head of the CSEU, and the supervision of the Principal Manager, the Civil Society Engagement Intern will support: outreach activities for the successful delivery of the Civil Society Programme at the Annual Meeting, research functions for the update of the contact list of civil society organisations and other background research for the preparation of briefings, speaking notes and preparation of inputs for communication products.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The Civil Society Engagement Intern will provide assistance to the CSEU managers in the implementation of the team work plans, tasks and activities. In particular, the assignment is focused, but not limited to the organisation of the Civil Society Programme during the EBRD Annual Meeting 2021:
Assist the team in planning, organising and implementing the Civil Society Programme at the Annual Meeting;
Support outreach activities for the Civil Society Programme at the EBRD Annual Meeting and provide the logistical support needed in preparation for the event; Prepare correspondence and materials for the event;
Contribute to the preparation of briefing and speaking notes with relevant background research.
Identify and research civil society engagement practices in international financial institutions, governments, clients and other public and private sector entities.
Manage the registration of CSOs (registration/accreditation/outreach), working alongside OSG using their online registration portal;
Produce a feedback survey and analyse relevant data after the event.
Note: This job description is not limited to the responsibilities listed and the candidate may be requested to perform other relevant duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge
Degree from a leading university in the country of education.
Prior experience with civil society organisations is preferred – at a minimum, the candidate should possess a good understanding of the challenges characterising the civic space in transition countries, including human rights.
Excellent communication, partnership and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively with EBRD staff and civil society organisations from a variety of backgrounds. Diplomatic and effective communication.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent IT skills, including use of presentational and communications software (e.g. PowerPoint), Excel, and database.
Familiarity with the EBRD region of operations and work or study experience in the region is helpful;
Results oriented, with good time management skills and ability to devise creative solutions;
Excellent command of written and spoken English. Other language(s) is an advantage.
