Purpose of Job
Within the EU Affairs Team, the intern will contribute to all phases of preparation and implementation of the different work streams related to InvestEU. The intern will take responsibility for those tasks assigned to him/her by the Associate Director responsible for InvestEU implementation. The intern will carry out these tasks as part of a project team under the guidance of the Associate Director.
The intern will also contribute to the preparation of information and documentation required by senior management for advocacy and policy discussions with key external stakeholders.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The Intern will work under the supervision of the Associate Director and relevant Team members, as the specific task assignment warrant, to :
Assist in preparation of updates and presentation material for EU/EBRD related internal and external meetings – typically 3-4 times per week
Provide input to the Team’s work through research on EU programmes/regulations and EU programme implementation progress in EBRD COO/EU Member States – continuous
Distribute information to and gather input from sector/specialist teams in Banking, Risk, EPG and EU Brussels Office related to the design of financing and advisory products under InvestEU
Assist in preparation of briefing notes and background information for senior management
meetings for advocacy and policy discussions with external stakeholders – typically twice a month
Assist in preparation of specific workshops (content and logistics) with other financial institutions (EIF, EIB etc.) and organisations (European Commission)
Manage the online working spaces (internal drives and Huddle space)
Interfaces: InvestEU Working Group, Banking sector/specialist teams, Banking country managers, Donor Co-Financing/EBRD Brussels Office

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree, currently studying for Master’s degree
Understanding of development banking, grant co-financing and technical assistance (advisory to government agencies and public sector or private sector clients)
Knowledge of and strong interest in the functioning of the EU institutions
Excellent written and oral communications skills in English, good command of French language is desirable
Good document drafting and editing skills
Computer literate, high level of proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Proven ability to develop a network of contacts and establish effective working relationships quickly
Ability to work effectively as a team member and to meet deadlines under time pressure
Curious and willing to take initiatives
