Outline of the role:
To be competent and responsible for accurately analysing blood samples using various on-site equipment and liaise with screening nurses on the interpretation of results as necessary. Have a clear understanding of good laboratory practice and maintaining laboratory records.
Person Specification
At least 2 years relevant/practical laboratory experience with HND or BMS qualification
Professional registration – HCPC or equivalent
Competent in providing accurate blood results, performing manual and semi-automated laboratory investigations.
Able to perform quality control procedures, to ensure machinery and laboratory instruments are tested and working accurately. Taking corrective action when these procedures indicate a loss of performance.
Knowledge of clinical waste disposal
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and IT skills
Able to work as part of a small team
