Lee Valley Coaching Assistant (Slalom)
Based at the British Canoeing offices at Lee Valley White Water Centre
Salary £21,000, (pro rata), dependent upon experience
Part Time – 10 hours per week Fixed term for one year until July 2017
British Canoeing is the United Kingdom’s Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking. It is a full member of the International Canoe Federation and has sole responsibility for international affairs.
It is now 16 years since the British Canoeing Programme was launched as a Lottery Funded Programme to assist our most talented sports people and teams in achieving consistent success in significant international competition and events.
British Canoeing has enjoyed significant Olympic success sport having won with four Olympic Medals at the London Olympic Games in 2012 including its first gold medal in Slalom. In July 2013 we launched Rapid Talent, a talent recruitment and development programme to reach out to a wide group of young people in the surrounding area, encourage them to take up competitive canoeing and fast track them to Regional Academy level. With the programme about to enter its fourth year we are looking to strengthen our coaching team by appointing a part time Slalom Talent Coach to join our England coaching team at Lee Valley.
