Role Responsibility
The postholder will be line managed by the Company Manager and report to the Script Producer, Script Editors and Post Production Supervisor.
They will be expected to ensure that all pre and post production scripts are published and distributed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner using office technology to members of production and cast, including coordinating the script requirements for guest artists who are often cast at very short notice, whilst also providing secretarial support to the Script and Post Production Department.
The role requires the electronic conversion of all scripts from Final Draft to ScriptWriter, ensuring that all rehearsal scripts include a story order and cast list and the creation and update of front pages of scripts for final draft and rehearsal scripts, ensuring that they carry the most up to date production personnel information.
Maintaining a comprehensive filing system to ensure quick retrieval of information is vital in this role, including producing post production scripts and updating the PDF archive, liaising with Post Production regarding the delivery of the post-production scripts and liaising with the relevant Script Editor to ensure the accuracy of all material being producer per episode.
Being the first point of contact for our new editorial staff who join the programme with an induction to fully explain how the script production process at EastEnders works as well as ensuring that they have access to and a bespoke template and user guide.
The postholder will be part of a team of two Script Coordinators who work closely and collaboratively, sharing all duties.
Are you the right candidate?
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;
Proven experience working in a demanding production office environment, preferably on a continuing drama or long-running series
An understanding of the Post Production process required in Production
Knowledge of secretarial and administrative support required by a Production
Experience of establishing and maintaining office and administration systems, with an understanding of Office and Information Technology, including Windows 10, ScriptWriter and Final Draft
Experience of handling confidential and commercially sensitive information with tact and sensitivity
Excellent typing skills, with a minimum typing speed of 40wpm
A sound command of English with the ability to format the layout of paperwork appropriately with good attention to detail
Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with the Script Department, colleagues and cast
An informed interest in television drama production, especially EastEnders
